The belt was a commission for the premier of Julio Torres's A24 movie, Problemista. Julio asked Suna to make a belt with life-sized office supplies as charms. The movie is about a boy from El Salvador who moves to NYC to pursue a career as a toy designer in NYC. The office supplies represent some of the items he would use in his office while designing toys. Each charm is built in waxed wire and cast using the lost wax technique.
The belt consists of a scissor, a clock, a pen, an espresso cup, a phone, a tape dispenser, a computer mouse, and a calculator. Each object is life-size and the pen and the tape dispenser are functional. The clock and the scissors have moving parts. Each charm is attached to a chain link that makes up the belt also made with the lost wax technique.
This item was a commission so it is no longer for sale.
